To commemorate each year of VGCI conventions, we try to commission the making of a piece of vaseline glass and make them available to each member. The pieces have varied in shape and size over the years and were made by various glass makers and artists. This production is always limited to a small quantity in order to keep costs down and make them unique to the Vaseline Glass Collectors, Inc.
Over the years, glass makers have found that vaseline cullet is extremely hard to find and for some years, impossible. Consequently, from 2010 through 2013, no convention pieces were produced. In 2010, it was decided to instead use the money that normally would have been spent on convention pieces as a donation to the Museum of American Glass in West Virginia, for the express purpose of building a special glass cabinet for vaseline glass only. This project was successfully completed in 2012!
Production of convention pieces resumed in 2014 and we will hopefully continue to produce a convention piece in the future years. Below are pictures of each year’s convention piece. Although this rarely happens, these convention pieces can be found on eBay! Enjoy!!
